AFRIPERF currently brings together petroleum regulatory authorities from 16 African nations. Eight countries have formally ratified the AFRIPERF Charter and hold full membership with voting rights. A further seven nations have pledged to ratify after domestic consultations. Observer status is available to African national oil companies and relevant intergovernmental bodies.

AFRIPERF is in the process of establishing an observer status framework for African national oil companies and associate bodies. Observer organisations will have access to forum proceedings and knowledge resources but will not hold voting rights on resolutions. The list of designated observer organisations will be published once formally confirmed.
How to Join the Forum
African petroleum regulatory authorities wishing to join AFRIPERF should submit a formal expression of interest to the AFRIPERF Secretariat at the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, Abuja. Membership is open to the official petroleum regulatory body of any African sovereign state. Each member state may nominate up to five competent persons to participate in forum activities.
